Job summary

Donaldson Company in Stevens Point, WI, is seeking a Machinist Trainee to operate CNC equipment, inspect parts, monitor performance, and assist with setup and maintenance. The position runs on 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime including Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic shop math, mechanical aptitude, fundamental computer literacy, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to stand/walk and lift up to 65 lbs. on a frequent basis; up to 35 lbs. regularly.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining equipment: Load raw materials and unload finished parts while following safety rules.
• Monitor Production: Watch machine cycles to spot errors, unusual noises, and tool wear.
• Inspect for Quality: measure finished parts using gauges, micrometers and calipers.
• Learn Setup & Maintenance: Assist with basic machine adjustments, tooling changes, coolant; routine upkeep.
• Learn to troubleshoot equipment and process issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Learn to read blueprints and work orders to understand part requirements.

A **Machinist Trainee** in **Stevens Point, WI**, supports manufacturing operations by operating CNC equipment, inspecting parts for quality, monitoring machine performance, and assisting with basic setup and maintenance activities.
