The Machinist I will be responsible for operating all machine shop equipment. This will be a B shift position, however; final shift may change based on internal shift changes.
This skill & qualification position is being reopened internally to current EnerSys employees for the next three days. Education and/or Experience: A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. At least five (5) years of experience operating machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and surface grinders in a maintenance environment. Proficiency in operating all machine shop equipment, reading blueprints and schematics, using shop math, and troubleshooting production equipment.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply fractions, division, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Capable of solving practical problems and interpreting instructions in various formats.
Physical Demands: Frequently stand, traverse indoor and outdoor areas, sit, use hands to handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell. Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Must have vision abilities including close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
