Job summary

Justrite Safety Group in Wellsburg, WV is seeking an experienced Machinist/Tool and Die Maker to design, build, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate reads blueprints and uses precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy.

You will operate lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders, select cutting tools, maintain tooling, and document inspections and production logs while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in tool and die making preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist/Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, sketches, drawings, and manuals.
• Experience with a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming and operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Design and build precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for use in manufacturing processes.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to produce precision parts and instruments.
• Select the appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and machine accessories according to the job requirements.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining.
• Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Repair and maintain existing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures as needed to ensure optimal performance.
• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation such as inspection reports, maintenance records, and production logs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
