Key Supervisor Responsibilities:
Assist management with departmental duties and responsibilities.
Participate in hiring and handling disciplinary actions for department team members.
Conduct annual performance evaluations for department staff.
Train, delegate training responsibilities, and cross-train all department team members.
Assign job tasks and duties within the department.
Regulate and inspect department cleanliness and organization.
Ensure a safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures and regulations.
Oversee compliance with OSHA and company safety rules.
Ensure all paperwork, checklists, and forms are properly completed and submitted.
Contribute to team efforts by achieving related objectives as needed.
Lead by example, demonstrating efficiency, problem-solving, and effective communication.
Represent the company professionally in all actions and communications.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Machinist Supervisor Responsibilities:
Schedule work assignments and set priorities for machinists.
Monitor and evaluate employee performance through completed work reviews.
Estimate material costs for machining projects.
Improve efficiency in repeat jobs by optimizing processes.
Work on complex parts from drawings, including one-offs and hand sketches.
Understand Cartesian coordinates (X, Y, Z, Axis) for machining centers.
Protect machinery, oversee shop operations, and share expertise with the team.
Plan tooling requirements for upcoming jobs to minimize downtime.
Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
Set up machines to optimize output across the shop.
Program CNC mills and lathes, calculating requirements and verifying part programs.
Ensure proper documentation of setup information and tooling requirements.
Maintain safe operations and adherence to safety procedures.
Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.
Machine parts according to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders.
Perform inspections and testing of completed units to detect defects.
Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials for machining.
Diagnose machine malfunctions and perform necessary adjustments.
Operate equipment and verify operational efficiency.
Install repaired or new parts into equipment.
Clean and lubricate machines to maintain functionality.
Program and operate CNC and numerically controlled machine tools.
Regulate machining controls and input commands as needed.
Collaborate with engineering and production personnel for technical discussions.
Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend modifications for efficiency.
Mark and measure materials for machining reference points.
Verify finished workpieces for conformance to specifications.
Perform trial runs to verify machine accuracy.
Operate forklifts and cranes in accordance with company protocols.
Ensure compliance with company quality standards and job specifications.
Maintain accurate records and complete necessary checklists and forms.
Assist team members as needed and provide training for fellow employees.
Follow job sequencing processes and ensure proper staging of materials.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report parts shortages to the supervisor as they arise.
Foster teamwork and effective communication within the department.
Solve problems and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Qualifications and Experience:
Required: High school diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience in multi-axis machining.
Preferred: Associate degree in a technical field, five years of machining experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Strong knowledge of English language structure, including spelling, grammar, and composition.
