Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Manufacturing Machinist for the Wallingford, CT facility. The role runs two shifts with consistent start times and a potential for schedule flexibility after onboarding and performance milestones.

The position requires operating multiple machines, performing precise inspections, and supporting a safe, efficient work environment while contributing to team goals and company values.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrates core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25–50 lbs (up to 100 lbs).
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam).

Responsibilities

• Performing accurate inspections on product.
• Running multiple pieces of equipment at the same time.
• Providing assistance to other employees when needed.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
