Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking an Entry-Level Machinist for our Wallingford, CT facility. This full-time role supports multiple machines and requires learning on-the-job with hands-on training provided.

The position operates a 6:00am–2:30pm schedule and is based at our CT180 manufacturing facility. Ideal candidates are 18+ with strong communication, math aptitude, attention to detail, and good problem-solving abilities. Prior machining experience is preferred.

Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 6:00am - 2:30pm

OVERVIEW

Working as Full-time Entry-Level Machinist, you will setup and operate multiple pieces of equipment such as saws, threading machines, hot and cold heading machines and various other pieces of manual equipment. This an entry-level position and training will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Learning machine operation and capabilities of multiple machines
• Running multiple pieces of equipment at the same time
• Performing accurate inspections on product
• Providing assistance to other employees when needed
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The skills and qualifications required for this position include:

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work

  COMPENSATION

  The base pay range for this position is $45,000 - 65,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
