Job summary

ANDRITZ Inc. in Pittsburg, TX is seeking an experienced Machinist to operate manual and CNC lathes, read drawings, and ensure parts meet quality specs. The role requires setup, precise measurement with micrometers and calipers, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced shop environment.

You will perform repairs and overhauls on equipment, collaborate with machinists and supervisors, and maintain a safe, clean work area while meeting project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Machinist / Millwright experience in a constructions or manufacturing environment.
• 2 years apprenticeship and/or Associates degree.
• 2 years of experience with motorized equipment and various manual and electrical hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Machinist must have knowledge of, and be able to competently and safely operate manual and CNC lathes, set up and dial in parts with minimal instruction
• Use manual and power tools, overhead cranes and forklifts, and other machine tools as assigned.
• Use metal cutting tooling.
• Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments as assigned.
• Read drawings and make sketches.
• Interact with and clearly communicate with co-workers in a team-like atmosphere.
• Stand on your feet at least 8 hr per day.
• Dead lift at least 50 lbs occasionally
• Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation is completed on time.
• Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace
