Job summary

FM Industries located in Livermore, CA is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist 2 for the weekend shift. The role involves setting up and running the most complex parts with minimal supervision and assisting development of new processes.

The weekend schedule Fri-Sun 4:00am–4:30pm includes a 15% shift differential. Qualified candidates have 3–5 years of related experience, vocational education or an apprenticeship, and familiarity with CNC controls and G-code.

Qualifications

• Completion of vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Completion of Machine Tool Technology program preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years' work-related experience.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 required to set-up and run the most complex proven or new parts with little to no supervision. Will assist in the development of new processes.

• Ensure all tooling and fixture used in the CNC area is adequately designed, cost effective and procured in such a manner which supports customer deliveries and company budgets
• Manually program machines utilizing proficient knowledge of CNC controls
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications
• Perform first piece inspection accurately, assist in development of check sheets.
