Job summary

FM Industries in Livermore, CA is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 for a weekend schedule Fri-Sun, 4:00am–4:30pm with a 15% shift differential. The role requires setting up and running complex parts with minimal supervision and contributing to new process development.

Responsibilities include programming, reading blueprints, and performing first-piece inspections. Candidates should have vocational education or an apprenticeship and 3–5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Completion of Machine Tool Technology program preferred.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years' work-related experience

Location is Livermore, CA

Weekend Shift: Fri-Sun 4:00am - 4:30pm (includes overtime after 8 hours and 15% shift differential)

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 required to set-up and run the most complex proven or new parts with little to no supervision. Will assist in the development of new processes.

• Ensure all tooling and fixture used in the CNC area is adequately designed, cost effective and procured in such a manner which supports customer deliveries and company budgets
• Manually program machines utilizing proficient knowledge of CNC controls
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications
• Perform first piece inspection accurately, assist in development of check sheets.
