Job summary

North Wind Group’s Machinist IV position at LLNL in Livermore, CA requires journeyman-level skills to set up and operate conventional and CNC machines, fabricating parts from diverse materials. Qualifications

• Journeyman machinist with 4+ years experience.
• Able to read ASME Y14.5M drawings and produce parts.
• Proficient with diverse materials including exotic alloys.
• Able to obtain and maintain DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools to fabricate parts in a wide variety of materials.
• Determine optimum speeds, feeds, and depths of cuts to meet engineering drawings.
• Document new processes related to special operations.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve routine manufacturing difficulties.
