Job summary

Coilcraft, Inc. is seeking a machinist intern to set up and operate machine tools, read drawings, and manufacture components with close tolerances.

The role requires you to be an active machinist student, use precision measuring devices, and follow blueprints. You will gain hands-on experience in a tool-and-die environment while maintaining a clean workspace and contributing to quality and customer focus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be an active student enrolled in a machinist program at an accredited college.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic mathematic skills.
  • Some knowledge of precision measuring devices preferred.
  • Some knowledge of reading blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings preferred.
  • Some knowledge of Machine Shop practices is a plus.
  • Attention to detail a must.
  • Safety minded.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various machine tools (lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, etc.), selecting proper feeds and speeds.
  • Work from drawings, sketches and verbal instructions to make components.
  • Work to close tolerances.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work.
  • Perform hand operations such as filing, fitting, tapping, etc.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean.
  • Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • 18.00-22.00 per hour The salary range provided is a general guideline and can vary depending on experience level, education, training; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.
