Job summary

Total Staffing Solutions in Carol Stream, IL is seeking a motivated Machinist to join our machine shop team. You will set up and operate manual mills and lathes to produce precision components per blueprints, with the opportunity to train on a Vertical Machining Center (VMC) for complex parts.

You will read drawings, select tooling, measure parts with calipers and gauges, and maintain quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Location: Carol Stream, IL

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Machinist to join our machine shop team. In this role, you will set up and operate manual mills and lathes to manufacture precision machine components according to blueprint specifications. These components are essential to our custom machinery manufacturing process. This position offers exceptional growth opportunities. Team members will have the opportunity to train on and operate a Vertical Machining Center (VMC), producing complex, high-volume components while expanding their technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain milling machines and lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Select appropriate machine settings and tooling for production requirements.
• Produce precision components while maintaining quality standards.
• Inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain inventory of finished components and materials as needed.
• Identify equipment maintenance needs and report concerns promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, gauges, and gauge blocks.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks as required.
