Job summary

Moog Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a skilled Machinist III for 1st shift to join our Military Aircraft Group. The role focuses on gear shaping, hobbing, and precision machining using Gleason and high-precision machines.

You will set up two or more machines, plan operations, read GD&T, and perform quality inspections. Candidates should have extensive gear-related experience and strong math and tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years shaping machining experience with gear-related processes.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates two or more types of manual or CNC machines (profiling, hones, Gleason generators, milling, turning, drilling, grinding).
  • Plans sequence of operations using tooling and improves tooling as needed.
  • Performs operations on various materials and meets production time standards.
  • Inspects work with precision instruments and reads GD&T and blueprints.
  • Supports NC programming with edits to resolve issues.
