Job Title: Machinist I - 2nd/3rd Shift

Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY

As a machinist within our Military Aircraft Group, you will machine some of the most challenging parts which will be used on major production programs such as F-35, MQ-25, and FLRAA.


Currently, we are seeking a skilled Machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and wants to see their work contribute to some of the world's most advanced programs.


In this role, you'll manufacture complex, high-precision components used in flight-critical systems where quality, reliability, and performance are non-negotiable.


This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign‑on bonus.


To qualify, candidates must submit their application between July 20, 2026, and September 11, 2026, and is subject to the terms of the bonus agreement.


Requirements


  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

  • At least 1 year experience as a general machinist OR Graduation from a formal manufacturing, machining, or CNC certification/training program.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow an escalation path as it applied to machining.

  • Familiarity using various measuring equipment, including but not limited to, Micrometers and Dial Bore Gauges.

  • Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.

  • In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company’s \"F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program\" is a requirement for this position.


Duties


  • Perform set‑ups and run parts on a CNC lathe with milling capabilities to close tolerances, fine finishes, and complex geometry.

  • Be responsible for the inspection of all work performed, setting up or adjusting gaging equipment, detecting unusual conditions, deviant parts; and when needed recognizing errors in blueprints and operation sheets.

  • Interpret complex drawings, including GD&T blueprints, sketches and operation sheets.

Salary Range Transparency

Buffalo, NY $22.00–$27.00 Hourly Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
