Job summary

Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Machinist II on 2nd shift to join the CNC machining team in Indianapolis, IN. You will perform complete setups, program and edit on CNC centers, lathes, and mills, and mentor teammates while driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years manual machining, 1–3 years CNC programming (Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Allen-Bradley), strong blueprint reading, GD&T, shop math, and the

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2-4 years of manual machining experience.
• 1-3 years of CNC programming, operation, and setup experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Allen-Bradley controls.
• Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading, shop math, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Complete setup including CNC programming, editing, and operation of milling centers, lathes, and mills.
• Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Calculate and set speeds, feeds, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut; perform offsets, fixturing, and adjustments for tool wear and finish quality.
• Inspect finished work pieces for conformance to prints and GD&T using precision measuring instruments.
• Provide hands-on training and guidance to other machinists on assembly activities, processes, and best practices.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards while completing all required documentation accurately.
