Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Lathe Machinist to join our Military Aircraft Group on the 2nd shift. You will set up and operate CNC lathes to produce complex parts with tight tolerances and inspect work to ensure first-pass quality.

You will work with a team that values craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement, following GD&T drawings and Fanuc or similar controls. This role offers a $3,500 sign-on bonus and a competitive hourly wage with shift differential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• At least 1 year of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
• Knowledge of G-Code preferred.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls a plus.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances (.001 +/- .0005) on precision parts.
• FAA Drug & Alcohol Program participation is required due to Safety Sensitive Work rules.

We are looking for a Lathe Machinist in our Military Aircraft Group who is passionate about precision, quality, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC and/or manual lathes to produce complex parts with tight tolerances, directly contributing to products that support cutting-edge technologies. You'll work alongside a team of dedicated professionals in a culture that values craftsmanship, accountability, and operational excellence.

This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• At least 1 year of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist
• Demonstrated working knowledge of G-Code is preferred
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls a plus
• Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances, typically .001 +/- .0005, associated with the machining of precision parts.
• In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Agency (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company's "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.

As a Lathe Machinist, you will:

• Perform set-ups and run parts on a CNC lathe with milling capabilities to close tolerances, fine finishes, and complex geometry.
• Be responsible for the inspection of all work performed, setting up or adjusting gaging equipment, detecting unusual conditions, deviant parts; and when needed recognizing errors in blueprints and operation sheets.
