Qualifications

Summary:

A Machinist II will complete set-ups, off-set adjustments, and troubleshoot production jobs. This position will

operate multiple machines at one time to produce high-precision components made from medical grade plastics.

  • Under minimal supervision, performs basic machine set-ups, tool offsets, edit changes and

adjustments necessary to maintain quality of production.

  • Inspects own work per the provided drawings and inspection sheets.
  • Conducts maintenance activities such as maintaining proper lubrication and fluid levels, chip

removal, and general housekeeping practices.

  • Success in this position requires frequent communication with peers and management. These

relationships must be built on respect, teamwork and professionalism.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to use and perform the following:
    • Use CMM and vision systems
    • Complete job setups utilizing setup cards and blueprints
    • Install and tram vices and fixtures
    • Download programs from DNC system
    • Install and set tooling using a tool setter
    • Inspect tram tooling to produce quality parts
    • Inspect first piece and make required changes to fixtures, tooling and offsets.
    • Handle heavy vices and fixtures
    • Set up multiple axis equipment
  • Make quality decisions utilizing measuring equipment including vision system
  • Make decisions during setup process to produce an acceptable part
  • Understand when it is time to change dull tooling and when fixtures need to be refinished
  • Recognize quality issues and when to bring to the attention of the technical lead or engineering

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong technical ability
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Able to learn
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of the following:
    • CNC machining experience or equivalent education
    • Setup experience and training
  • Must be able to:
    • Read work instructions, blueprints and measuring equipment including hand tools
    • Operate CMM and vision system
  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Intro to manufacturing and machining certificate preferred

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $40,300.00 - $60,500.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
