Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services is seeking a Machinist I to turn raw stock into precision parts and tooling for turbocharger repairs and other components. You will learn hands-on under experienced machinists and contribute to keeping compression equipment running worldwide.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting up machines, maintaining quality, and supporting the aftermarket team. The role requires basic math, safety focus, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years manual machining experience preferred.
• Knowledge of precision measuring tools and basic math.
• Commitment to quality control and safety guidelines.
• Clear verbal and written communication required.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Machine one-off parts and tooling to spec on manual drilling, lathes and mills.
• Repair and restore parts for turbocharger service business.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specs to determine dimensions and times.
• Lay out and inspect finished parts against prints and routing instructions.
• Set up fixtures and tools, adjust offsets and monitor cutting speeds.
• Ensure safe operation and neat, documented work area.
• Support Aftermarket team and take on extra machines as needed.
