Job summary

FM Industries, Inc. is seeking a CNC Horizontal Machinist I for the Livermore, CA facility. The role involves setting up and running repeat or proven parts of simple to intermediate complexity under supervision, with weekend shifts from Friday to Sunday.

Training will start on day shift for about two weeks, with overtime after 8 hours daily and a 15% shift differential. Qualified candidates have 0–2 years of experience, basic blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge, and familiarity with Mazak is a

THIS POSITION IS FOR WEEKEND SHIFT - Weekend hours are 4:00 am to 4:30 pm Friday thru Sunday. 12 hours days

Eligible for 15% shift differential and overtime after 8 hours daily

Training will consist of a minimum two weeks on day shift for training. Longer if needed.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a CNC Horizontal Machinist I, you will set-up and run repeat or proven part(s) with simple to intermediate complexity with direction from area Lead or Supervisor.

• Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications
• Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to operators and lower-level machinists as required
• Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders
• Able to recognize machine deviation versus cutter or work holding problems and alerts lead or supervisor.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years' work experience
• Basic knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD & T
• Experience with Mazak a plus
• Basic knowledge of accepted inspection practices
• Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making
