Job summary

FM Industries is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 for the Weekend Day Shift in Livermore, CA. The role focuses on setting up and running repeat parts with guidance from leads or supervisors, following shop procedures, and maintaining quality through inspection and documentation.

You will read blueprints, handle DNC file transfers, and ensure tooling and processes meet specifications. This is a full-time weekend position with overtime applicable after 8 hours and a 12% shift differential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years work experience in CNC machining or equivalent.
• Enrolled in or completed vocational education or 4-year apprenticeship preferred.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code.
• Extensive knowledge of inspection practices and gauging methods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run repeat/proven parts with minimal supervision.
• Operate and document DNC communications for program uploads/downloads.
• Inspect/measure parts to maintain quality and statistics.
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions and standard charts.

THIS POSITION IS FOR WEEKENDS DAY SHIFT Friday, Saturday & Sunday 4:00am-4:15pm
12 hour shifts with overtime after 8 hours and 15% shift differential

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a CNC Lathe Machinist 2, you will set-up and run repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor

• Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities.
• Responsible for DNC communications upload and download tool program
• Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistic
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ work experience
• Enrolled in or vocational education or 4 years formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code
• Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
• Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
