Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking an entry-level Machinist in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on reading drawings, setting up conventional machines, and loading CNC programs to produce parts within spec.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and adherence to safety standards. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, at least 1 year of related experience or training, and basic math and measurement skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; and minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exposure to CNC operation, programming, setup, or training.
• Will be required to interact with manufacturing software for job scheduling and work order execution.
• Ability to read basic dimensional drawings and understand tolerances.
• Ability to use hand and machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Read basic dimensional drawings and understand tolerances.
• Set up and operate conventional machines (mills, lathes, grinders, drills).
• Load, verify, and run existing CNC programs; make approved offset adjustments.
• Perform in-process inspection with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Support on-time delivery by communicating delays early.
