Job summary

Emerson in Gonzales, LA is seeking a Machinist to fabricate Fisher OEM control valve parts using a range of machining techniques. You will repair field parts to OEM specs and must be proficient with manual and CNC lathe and mill operations.

Emphasis on safety and quality is required to meet rigorous standards. The role supports a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM) with base pay plus $1.00 shift differential and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of machining experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills are a must.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others. Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.
Cross-train on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow including engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
Must understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.
Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances per part drawings.
Potential for field assignments using in-line machine. Some travel may be required.
Adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.
