Job summary

Valmet Corporation in Northwest Houston is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills on 2nd shift. The role focuses on fabricating metallic and nonmetallic parts to tight tolerances, aligning with blueprints and specifications.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of CNC or manual machine experience, read G-Codes/M-Codes on Fanuc, and be comfortable with fast-paced work. Valmet offers an AC, modern shop and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years' experience on CNC Machines or Manual Machines.
• Must be able to read and understand G-Codes and M-Codes using Fanuc controls.
• Able to read blueprints and specifications and produce precision work.
• Experience machining valve components is a plus.
• Able to perform these duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to machine exotic materials such as Titanium and Inconel.

Responsibilities

• Set-Up CNC Machines using edge finder or probe to locate program zero.
• Read in and adjust program speeds, feeds, depth of cuts as required.

2nd shift. Air-conditioned Modern Shop located in Northwest Houston & room for advancement for the right individual

Position Overview

This position is responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities

• Experience on CNC lathe or mill
• Install chuck jaws and or fixtures on machine
• Set-Up CNC Machines using edge finder or probe to locate program zero
• Read in and adjust program speeds, feeds, depth of cuts as required
• Machine part to drawing
• Measure part, complete inspection report and adjust offsets
• May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor
