Job description

Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for a Machinist Apprentice.



Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful professionals.



Position Responsibilities:


- Apply safe working methods


- Basic Set-up, basic operation of various machines to include Manual Milling Machine, Manual Lathes, Manual milling machines, Manual lathes, Hydraulic press, Drill Press,


- Machine to tight tolerances


- Perform a variety of associated functions to maintain continuous operation of the machines


- Operate overhead cranes/jib cranes, grinders, hand tools, various power tools


- Obtain required job skills and knowledge requirements


- Maintain work area, equipment


- Keep documents/Job records updated


- Collaborates with team members in the creation, implementation, and training of standard work procedures


- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Lead


- Attend company provided apprenticeship program up to 9 hours a week in the evenings


Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:


- High school diploma or equivalent


- Technical school or certification in machining preferred


- Use of fine motor skills


- Use of hand tools/Power tools


- Computer skills


- Ability to read prints/ Reverse engineer parts for recreation, create blueprints


-Ability to use Micrometers, Dial bore gages, snap gages, Calipers, for quality inspection of parts


-Must be able to lift 50 pounds
