Job summary

Stellant Systems, Inc. in Williamsport, PA seeks a Machinist under close supervision to operate a limited number of hand tools and shop equipment for routine part machining. Read simple blueprints, maintain tolerances, and perform basic setups under supervision.

Responsibilities include deburring parts, using drill presses, lathes, grinders, and other machines, while keeping equipment maintained and the workspace safe and orderly, and adhering to shop safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months or less shop equipment operation experience.
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
• Able to understand/follow written and verbal instructions.
• Shop math requirements such as understanding high school mathematics, familiarity with measuring scales, and able to convert fractions to decimals.

Responsibilities

• Deburring parts, buffer-tumbler, under-scope bench work.
• Performs limited machine operations using drill presses, lathes, power saws, grinders, etc.
• Perform machine operations under supervision; work is frequently checked.
• Will change and/or sharpen cutting tools during operations under supervision.
• Maintain tolerances with dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Read/understand simple blueprints (OD/ID, material requirements, limit tolerances).
• Notify appropriate personnel of operation or process irregularities.
• Maintain equipment for daily use and keep the work area safe, clean and orderly.
• Make simple setups under supervision.
• Read, understand and adhere to Shop Safety Regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Performsmachine operations under supervision, and all work is frequently checked.
• Willchange and/or sharpen cutting tool during operations, as supervised.
• Willbe required to maintain tolerances by the use of dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Required to read/understand simple blueprints (i.e.OD/ID, material requirements, limit tolerances).
