Responsibilities

In this full‑time hourly position, you will set up and operate manual, automatic, cutoff, and abrasive saws, punch press equipment and deburring machines, as well as honing machines, drilling machines, EDM, lathes, centerless grinders and other tools. You’ll perform complete in‑process operations on envelope assemblies and other parts requiring precision honing, such as TWT electron gun drilling and machining. In addition, you will review transfer sheet details and work on discrepancies, carefully review and understand customer requirements before working on them, and work to reduce scrap and dispose of unavoidable scrap to the proper area.

Qualifications

You will need at least one year of hands‑on machine shop experience or equivalent education. Other qualifications that will enable you to do this job successfully include:

• Demonstrated skill in the use of precision measuring equipment, tools, dies, and jigs.
• Knowledge of all metals and their properties.
• Basic computer uses and data entry skills.
• The ability to read mechanical blueprints.
• Basic math skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is needed, with additional trade school or other relevant certifications preferred.
