Stellant Systems in Williamsport, PA seeks an experienced Machinist to set up and operate all shop machines, including CNC turning and milling centers. You will read prints, calculate speeds/feeds, and generate CAM programs to support part fabrication.

Responsibilities include tool setup, quality measurement with micrometers and dial indicators, maintaining equipment, and mentoring junior machinists. A high school diploma and 4–6 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4-6 years relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math.
• Able to use all types of precision measuring equipment.
• Able to determine setups using knowledge of cutting characteristics of all materials in plant.
• Proficient in simple machine programming such as Proto-trac turning and milling.

Responsabilités

• Consistently follows all shop safety protocols and regulations.
• Conceives and fabricates necessary tooling required for parts manufactured.
• May perform raw stock order filling using horizontal and vertical band saws, abrasive cut-off machines, shears, and hand tools.
• Competently and safely uses the hoists within the department.
• Responsible for keeping cutting equipment operable by changing cut-off abrasive wheels, band saw blades, etc.
• Responsible for maintenance and repair of jibs and fixtures.
• Responsible for reworking complete tube assemblies and other products.
• Responsible for determining speeds and feeds as well as tooling and cutting characteristics for any and all materials.
• Train other Production Machinists at or below job grade.
• Maintain tolerances using dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot defective jobs using assembly prints and repair jigs when necessary.
• Perform duties in accordance with Facilities Workmanship Standards and Aid Manual.
• Sets up and operates CNC machines turning and milling centers.
• Generates CAM programs and tool lists.
• Communicate any known operation process irregularities to supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
• Maintains work area and tools in a clean and orderly manner daily.
