Job summary

LECO is seeking a Machinist 2-1 for the MI location to operate and inspect precision machines on the 2nd shift. The role includes reading engineering drawings, performing bench and CNC setup, and ensuring conformance with LECO Quality Management Plan.

A 15% shift premium and a retention bonus for new hires are offered. You will work with a team to identify quality issues, document findings, and implement corrective actions across manufacturing processes, including CNC and traditional machining

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• React to out-of-control conditions specified in the LECO Quality Management Plan
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
• Identify and record any product quality problems
• Verify the implementation of solutions
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
• Inspect parts that they manufacture and perform the related data entry

Schedule

MI - 2 nd Shift, 3:15pm - 3:45am, Monday – Wednesday, 3:15pm – 7:15pm, Thursday and Overtime will be scheduled as needed

Position Summary

The Machinist 2-1 is responsible for a variety of shop related duties involving both machining and non-machining job functions. This position includes a 15% premium for 2 nd shift employees plus a retention bonus for 2 nd shift new hires.

Position Responsibilities

Position Requirements

• People in the Machinist 2-1 job classification must be able to read engineering drawings, routers, and precision measuring tools
• Own or be willing to purchase all necessary tools of the trade
• People in this job classification may be required to perform manufacturing processes involving any or all the following:
• Material handling Material sawing
• Solder assembly
• Part deburring and cleaning
• Bench assembly
• Tube forming
• Hand Screw Machine setup and operation
• Drill Press setup and operation
• Engine Lathe setup and operation
• Vertical Mill setup and operation
• CNC Machine Tool setup and operation
• CNC programming and editing
• Machine maintenance
• Miscellaneous shop duties

Education/Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience is preferred
