Job summary

Stellant Systems in Torrance, CA is seeking a Mechancial Assembler for the first shift to build sub-assemblies for traveling wave tube (TWT) products used in military applications. This full-time hourly role requires following detailed process instructions, using hand tools and measuring devices, and operating furnaces to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.

You will work with a team to assemble initial components, read engineering prints, and ensure accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of operations or manufacturing-related work experience, general knowledge of mechanical assembly processes and procedures, with previous precision mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• Experience working in a clean room is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical assembly (vacuum assembly, subs, package, magnet stack, high vac testing, circuits) and other duties in manufacturing traveling wave tubes.
• Set up and operate assembly/process equipment to manufacture and process TWTs through final acceptance and delivery.
• Work under clean room conditions and controls when required.
• Use computerized equipment to input, retrieve and perform simple analysis of information.
• Pursue certifications as required per department requirements.
• Read and understand engineering prints/documentation with neat, legible handwriting and proper stamps.
• Adjust and perform incidental related duties to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Work scheduled shifts per Collective Bargaining Agreement; maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Proficient at clocking into and out of work orders; accurately record time charging of job performed.

Overview

Job Title: Mechancial Assembler

Job Location: Torrance, CA

Salary: $22.00-$26.00/hr DOE

We are currently seeking a MICROWAVE TUBE GENERALIST to work on 1st shift at our Torrance, CA location, building sub-assemblies for traveling wave tube (TWT) products used primarily for military applications. In this full-time hourly position you will be responsible for building the various assemblies and sub-assemblies that make up the initial components in our TWTs. You'll follow detailed process instructions to put together small TWT sub-assemblies, using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, measuring devices and you will operate furnaces. In conjunction with others in your work group, you'll ensure that quality, cost, and production goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing basic mechanical assembly (vac assy, subs, package, magnet stack, high vac testing, circuits and other duties associated with the manufacture of traveling wave tubes). Additional duties may include, but not limited to mechanical teardown, prep, and cathode cleaning.
• Responsible for effectively and efficiently setting up (ensures build records are with kit(s)-router, traveler, and history records any previous sequences have been completed andcertified using assigned stamp and date) and operates assembly and/or process equipment as required to manufacture and process TWT's through final acceptance and delivery.
• Responsible for performing work under clean room conditions and controls when required.
• Responsible for performing computerized equipment to input, retrieve and perform simple analysis of information.
• Ability to obtain certifications as required per department requirements.
• Must be able to proficiently read and understand engineering prints/documentation and ensuring any handwritten entries are neat, legible, and contain necessary stamps.
• Responsible for adjusting and performing incidental related duties as assigned or required to ensure acceptable quality, cost (HPUs) and delivery expectations are met.
• Work scheduled shifts as requested or permitted by Collective Bargaining Agreement; regular attendance and punctuality are required.
• Must be proficient at clocking into (and out of) work orders.
• Must accurately record and document time charging of job performed.
