Frank Calandra Jennmar Services in South Point, OH seeks a Machinist for full-time employment. You will read drawings, set up machines, and perform machining on lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to produce precise parts.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, 1-2 years machinist experience, and the ability to work a 40+ hour week with strong safety and quality focus. Training certificates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety evaluation of the work area before machining actions.

• Operate conventional machine tools (lathes, shapers, planers, milling).
• Machine tools and metal forming tools ( grinders, saws, drills).
• Verify dimensions with micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
• Maintain clean and organized workstation and area.

Machinist

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School/GED Preferred
• Tech/Vo Tech Training Certificate; Machining or Tool and Die Tech Certificate Preferred
• One-to-Two (1-2) Years Demonstrated Machinist Experience Required

Qualifications

• Dependability to consistently be at work and on time, with the ability to work a flexible 40+ hour schedule as required
• Fundamental listening, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately follow directions
• Functional mechanical knowledge to determine various tooling machine functions
• Functional mathematical ability, including knowledge of fractions and decimals, to perform calculations and measurements using a tape measure and/or micrometers
• Spatial and form perception, along with finger and manual dexterity, to interpret blueprints, verify machine part dimensions, and perform machining operations
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines when handling raw steel materials, finished steel products, machinery, and equipment
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality assurance and safety while handling raw steel materials, finished steel products, and performing machining operations
• Ability to stand and/or bend repetitively during normal job duties
• Effective communication skills to interact with management, co-workers, and outside vendors

Responsibilities

• Conduct a safety evaluation of the work area prior to performing machinist actions.
• Perform routine maintenance and machine setup actions as required throughout all phases of production.
• Read/interpret technical drawings or prints for machining specifications.
• Perform machine-tooling actions on conventional machine tools including, but not limited to, lathes, shapers, planers, and milling machines.
• Perform machine tooling actions on various metal forming tools including grinders, saws, drilling and boring machines.
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Perform machine(s), workstation, and surrounding area cleanup/housekeeping tasks, as required.
