Qualifications

  • Metal work experience is a plus.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled High Power Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-powered machinery used in precision fabrication and manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while meeting quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, including drill press, milling machine, and fabrication tools, contributing directly to the creation of high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Based on our government contract, US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high-power machinery such as drill press, milling machine, and fabrication tools precision and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Set up and program machinery using CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), Fanuc controls, and other programming software to produce accurate parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and materials specifications to ensure proper fabrication and assembly.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on machinery to optimize performance and prevent downtime.
  • Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment while ensuring proper storage and inventory control within the manufacturing facility.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, fabrication projects, or packaging processes to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machine operations, maintenance logs, quality checks, and safety procedures in compliance with company standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements or new tooling requirements for increased efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating high-power manufacturing equipment such as drill press, milling machine, and fabrication tools in a factory or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Skilled in reading blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T specifications, and using CAD software like SolidWorks for part design review.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable for understanding automation systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with quality control tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, welding, tooling setup, materials handling, and assembly line operations.
  • Basic math skills for reading calipers, measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances and production specifications.
  • Strong understanding of factory safety protocols and experience working within a manufacturing facility environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Metal work is an added plus
