Job summary

A manufacturing company in Massachusetts is seeking a Production Machinist to operate CNC and manual equipment. The role requires at least 2 years of machining experience and the ability to read blueprints. The successful candidate will work independently following training and assist higher-level machinists as necessary. Compensation is based on experience and includes comprehensive benefits. Qualifications

  • Able to read blueprints and basic machining specs.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Familiarity with CNC conversational control and basic edits.
  • Able to work independently after 4–6 months of training.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other tools.
  • Follow blueprints and work orders to machine parts.
  • Inspect work for quality and adjust as necessary.
  • Inspect work using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and preset instruments
  • Adjust machines manually to control tolerances as needed
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the work area
  • Assist in basic fixture creation and rough setups with guidance
  • Report to supervisors or higher-level machinists for troubleshooting or complex setups

As a Production Machinist, youll perform repetitive and precision machining using CNC and manual equipment. Youll follow clear blueprints and work orders to create quality metal parts, maintain tolerances, and ensure proper setup and inspection of your work. Youll work independently after initial training and collaborate with higher-level machinists as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Operate lathes, mills, grinders, saws, and hand tools to machine parts
  • Follow blueprints, program readouts, and instructions to meet specifications
  • Select proper tools, speeds, feeds, and materials based on work orders
  • Inspect work using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and preset instruments
  • Adjust machines manually to control tolerances as needed
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the work area
  • Assist in basic fixture creation and rough setups with guidance
  • Report to supervisors or higher-level machinists for troubleshooting or complex setups

Compensation: Pay will be offered based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, and certifications.
