Job summary

Dynamic-Metals is seeking a Machinist, I to set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines in a Dayton, OH facility. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and precise measurement with micrometers, calipers, and fixtures.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts against drawings using precision measuring tools.
  • Update work orders and inspection sheets after tasks.

Set-up, operate, and monitor various CNC machines - vertical mills, vertical turret lathe, and horizonal lathes. Maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.

  • Plan, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, material and operating instructions before and while running operations and equipment
  • Produce and inspect parts against drawings specifications within time allotted; ensuring product meets specified quality standards
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and fixtures/gauges to check work to drawings
  • Verify initial product quality checks and complete all processing operations
  • Update related paperwork (work orders and in-process inspection sheets) upon completion of tasks
  • Ability to stand and operate machinery throughout the duration of shift, except for scheduled breaks
  • Ability to lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, load/unload required objects
  • Demonstrate safe work habits
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner
  • Maintain current, overall, and job specific trainings and requirements
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Detail Oriented
  • Manage time with little to no supervision, self-motivated
  • Foundational understanding of machining techniques, interpretation of geometric dimensions and tolerances with the ability to turn a range of components on a lathe
  • AS9100 Quality compliance, understanding, and commitment
  • CNC (conversation and G&M code) Milling experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience
