POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Machinist - 1st shift, Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm. The Machinist operates CNC and conventional machines to fabricate parts, loads parts, cycles machines, detects malfunctions, runs production lots, communicates with co-workers, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment. Supports Sonaca North America’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement, and other policies by committing to customer satisfaction, quality, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teamwork, accountability, and respect for people.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load/unload parts on CNC machines to maximize spindle utilization
• Inspect and monitor parts during and after machining
• Deburr and blend machined parts
• Perform daily maintenance on machines
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Read and interpret blueprints and measuring equipment (calipers/micrometers)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred; candidates without will need to pass a pre-employment assessment
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; ITAR/EAR clearance required
• 2 years CNC machining experience or enrolled in a machining program at a technical college

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Sitting or standing for extended periods
• Noise levels from quiet to loud
• Use of PPE (eye, ear, foot protection)
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
