Job summary

Spuntech Industries, Inc. in Roxboro, NC is seeking a skilled Machinist to fabricate, maintain, and repair metal components in the Maintenance department.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Be available for rotating on-call duty on nights and weekends to assist production

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for making needed components and critical parts , in the Department of Maintenance. The duties outlined in this Job Description are expected to be completed in a professional, safe and quality minded manner, and per all Company Policies, Procedures and additional expectations as outlined by position Supervisor.

Major Job Responsibilities:

TheMachinist will:

• Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules and notify appropriate management of any safety hazards, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment.
• Support the company’s quality and safety initiatives
• Abide by job related procedures, work instructions and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.
• Fabricate, maintain, and repair metal objects through the operation of lathes, shapers, planers, milling machines, hydraulic presses, drill presses, and similar equipment
• Measure work carefully by using precision tools
• Perform milling and lathe work on such equipment as pumps, valves, pistons, and other plant equipment
• Work with maintenance team to analyze and minimize mechanical downtime and contribute to continuous process improvement
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery
• Be available for rotating on-call duty on nights and weekends to assist production in the event of a serious mechanical breakdown
• Keep work stations and tools clean, neat, and organized

Job Specific Requirements:

Physicality:

• Occasionally lift, push, pull items 50 – 100 lbs
• Routinely lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs
• Stand/Walk 8-12 hours per shift

Expected Work Schedule / Shift:

• Day Shift, on call support as needed

Education / Skills:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
• Five years of experience as a machinist, or machinist certification with three years of experience
• Some knowledge of automated control systems
• Experience on a continuous process manufacturing line preferred
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Manufacturing Experience
