Job summary

Qualifications

• Forklift or other equipment experience beneficial; strong teamwork.
• Knowledge of PLCs and automated control systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an automated production line and building support systems.
• Monitor mechanical systems and repair/oversee repairs of assets including PLCs.
• Work with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and perform preventative maintenance.
• Be available for rotating on-call duty on nights and weekends.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; keep work stations clean and organized.
• Provide mentorship and collaborate with Facilities Manager.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for Maintain an automated production line, in the Department of Maintenance. The duties outlined in this Job Description are expected to be completed in a professional, safe and quality minded manner, and per all Company Policies, Procedures and additional expectations as outlined by position Supervisor.

Major Job Responsibilities:

TheMechanic will:

• Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules and notify appropriate management of any safety hazards, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment.
• Support the company’s quality and safety initiatives
• Abide by job related procedures, work instructions and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.
• Maintain an automated continuous production line and building support systems, working in a team environment
• Monitor plant mechanical systems and repair or supervise the repair of company mechanical assets, including control systems (PLCs), stepper motors and drives, and inverters
• Work with maintenance team to analyze and minimize mechanical downtime
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery
• Be available for rotating on-call duty on nights and weekends to assist production in the event of a serious mechanical breakdown
• Keep work stations clean, neat, and organized
• Perform any other maintenance tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager

Job Specific Requirements:

Physicality:

• Occasionally lift, push, pull items 50 – 100 lbs.

Education / Skills:

• High school diploma or GED, with a two-year degree in mechanical or similar field preferred
