As a Machinist you will support the development and determination of machining operations, selects tooling, makes setups, and develops processes.
We are looking for all levels of Machinists and can work any shift - once interviewed, your shift and level will be determined by your skills and the needs of the plant to cover work areas. All skill levels are encouraged to apply. Must be local to Newington, NH area.
You will report to the Machine Shop Supervisor and be located at Newington, NH. You will support this position 100% onsite.
Operate manufacturing department metal removing and metal forming machines.
Select and use necessary measuring tools.
Select and use hand tools.
Work from drawings, sketches, written instructions, or verbal instructions (not to conflict with PP-09-01 )
Perform technical and close tolerance work to engineering drawings and written instructions.
Can operate any of the machine tool types that they are qualified for on the department training matrix with a minimal amount of training.
Determine the need for and fabricate jigs and tooling.
Practice proper housekeeping, observing all safety and criticality procedures.
Responsible for quality of work during the machining process to ensure required tolerances have been met.
Practice 5S principals and observe all safety policies.
Load or coordinate the loading of their machining center.
Run multiple machines at the same time, based on proximity, qualifications, and training.
May, but are not required to, modify and troubleshoot machining programs based on machine qualification and training.
Set-up machine tools and component or casting to ensure the proper machining of the part, component, or casting to print specifications. Depending upon the size of the part and the
respective complexity, set-up time can vary.
General responsibilities as assigned by management
Receive direction from supervisor or team coordinator.
Will requires minimal or no guidance.
High school graduate or recognized equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience and operational proficiency as a Westinghouse - NewingtonMachinist B or recognized equivalent.
Knowledge of CNC "G" codes
Knowledge of tooling, fixtures arid machine set-up to achieve quality machined components.
Familiar with and practice 5S principals.
Perform technical and close tolerance work to engineering drawings and written instructions.
Operate any of the machine tool types with a minimal amount of training.
Determine the need for and fabricate jigs and tooling.
Speak, read and write in English.
Knowledge of programing is preferred.
