Qualifications

Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and experience or training in machinist trade. Must pass the EEI MASS test. Ability to operate machine shop equipment (lathes, shapers, grinders, etc.) and read precise measurements with tools like micrometers and calipers is required. Ability to interpret blueprints and sketches is essential. Consideration will be given to relevant training, experience, and knowledge of power plant mechanics.

Primary Duties

Repair, rebuild, and create units and components for mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Tasks include:

• Creating non-standard parts, aligning, disassembling, assembling, and fitting to close tolerances.
• Operating stationary and portable machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.
• Applying shop mathematics and using reference materials for fabrication and fitting.
• Performing general mechanical maintenance and related work as assigned.
