Job summary

Tidewater Community College seeks an adjunct in Machining Technology to teach courses related to CNC and manual machining. The role may include teaching in a classroom, via Zoom, or online, serving students with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The incumbent will plan, organize, teach, and provide timely feedback to promote mastery of course outcomes, with office hours and flexible scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in machining, including CNC and manual operations.
• Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Commitment to hands-on, student-centered instruction.
• Ability to communicate effectively electronically.

Responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates knowledge and skills acquisition.
• Align course activities with learning outcomes and use active learning strategies.
• Deliver instruction and assess student learning with timely feedback.
• Work day, evening, and/or weekend hours as assigned.
• Hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course.
