Job summary

Tidewater Community College seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach machining, CNC and related disciplines. The ideal candidate has at least five years of industry experience, including CNC and manual operations, and can deliver hands-on, student-centered instruction in a college setting.

A high school diploma is required, with a diploma in machine tool technology preferred. Instructors may teach on campus or online as needed, with daytime availability and regular office hours to support

Qualifications

High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
Minimum of five years of industry experience in machining, including CNC and manual operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Commitment to hands-on, student-centered instruction.
Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.

Responsibilities

Create a learning environment that facilitates students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in a discipline and/or program.
Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies.
Deliver instruction supporting stated learning outcomes and assess student learning with timely feedback.
Maintain at least 1 office hour per week for each course assigned; respond to student needs.
Schedule may include day, evening and/or weekend classes as assigned.
