Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Waco, TX, on-site, seeks a machinist to operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to support production. You will collaborate with operators and engineering on tooling modifications and ensure quality workmanship.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 6 months of experience with machine tools; technical schooling in machining is a plus. Reading blueprints and using precision gauges is required. U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience utilizing machine tools to perform precision metal cutting operations (may include Technical school education).
• Technical school education in machining, preferred
• Must read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Must read gauges, micrometers, scales, calipers and related precision measuring equipment.
• U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship not available.
• ITAR requires U.S. person status (citizen, green card holder, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prepare production reports, timecards, and other forms.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment to support production.
• Work with operators and Engineering on specific manual modifications to existing tooling
• Will be expected to do quality work and care for equipment.
• Must keep work area clean and orderly.
• Make out production reports, timecards and other reports or forms as required.
• Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to learn manufacturing principles and techniques.
• Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
• Maintains full compliance and conducts all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
