Job summary

You will mentor and develop staff, implement process improvements, and coordinate with planning to keep work flowing. Strong blueprint reading, machining and ERP proficiency are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent supervisory experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of machining experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Previous lead and/or supervisory experience.
• Excellent people skills, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent understanding of blueprint reading, machining, and material handling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP systems.
• Ability to help machining team as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, and coordinates departmental activities and employees to ensure jobs are completed on time and meet quality guidelines.
• Creates work schedules for employees and prioritizes daily workload for all machining team members.
• Manages kitting workorders for next operation and supplies to next stage.
• Provides leadership to maximize department efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
• Interviews, trains, and develops new and existing employees.
• Implements policies, procedures, and improvements in machining processes.
• Monitors employee performance and provides feedback and training.
• Communicates issues, schedules, and actions in real time to production and planning.
• Manages machining issues such as damaged product, employee issues, or quality concerns.
• Helps develop future machining KPIs and dashboards to improve processes.
