Job summary

UPSIDE INNOVATIONS LLC seeks a Machining Team Lead to direct daily operations of the machining group at our West Chester, OH facility. You will assign operators, plan work across machines, and ensure timely production while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities include creating schedules, guiding training and development, implementing process improvements, and tracking performance metrics to boost efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent supervisory experience.
• 3–5 years machining experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading and supervising teams.
• Strong communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules and coordinates departmental activities and employees to ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner and follow our quality guidelines.
• Creates work schedules for employees and prioritizes daily workload for all machining team members.
• Manages kitting workorders as they are completed in the machining department to supply them to the next operation.
• Provides leadership and direction to maximize department efficiency while maintaining all company safety standards.
• Responsible for interviewing, training and development of new and existing employees.
• Implements policies, procedures, and improvements in machining processes to support departmental goals and objectives.
• Monitors employee performance and assists with employee feedback and training.
• Responsible for tracking employee attendance in accordance with the company attendance policy.
• Communicates issues, schedules and actions real-time to production, planning, etc.
• Manages all machining issues such as damaged product, employee issues, unsatisfactory quality, etc.
• Help develop future machining KPIs, dashboards, etc. to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Evaluate finished work for all products to better ensure damage free material.

Job Details: Job Location: HEADQUARTERS - WEST CHESTER, OH 45069, Position Type: Full Time, Upside Innovations, a SixAxis company, is a premier manufacturer of aluminum ramps, steps, canopies, covered walkways, and custom access products. The Machining Team Lead will lead the Machining team’s day-to-day operation. As the Team Lead you will be responsible for managing and directing the team, assigning operators to each piece of equipment and scheduling the work on each machine. You will also be responsible for managing work coming out of the department and kitting it for the next operation.

Qualifications: Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent supervisory experience
• Minimum 3-5 years machining experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Previous lead and/or supervisory experience
• Excellent people skills, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent understanding of blueprint reading, machining, and material handling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP systems
• Ability to help machining team as necessary
