Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Thornton, CA, is seeking a Machining Crew Leader for the 2nd shift to coordinate a cell and drive safety, training, and production efficiency. You will supervise daily operations, review production sheets, and support continuous improvements in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months to a year of related experience, and basic proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook. 18+ years of age and strong teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma GED preferred but not required.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in related areas (1-3 years preferred).
• Working knowledge of production reporting and production scheduling.
• Basic working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate an operating cell work area and its support services.
• Assist in training of employees and communicate between management and employees.
• Schedule production, balance workloads between teams, and review preshift machine inspection sheets.
• Ensure work area and equipment are safe and clean; ensure quality meets customer specs.
• Lead continuous improvements and safety initiatives; prepare production reports and maintain records.
• Support policy compliance and communicate effectively with staff and management.
