Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Crew Leader to coordinate an operating cell, train employees, and facilitate communication between management and staff. The role relies on limited experience and judgment to meet goals under direct supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 6 months to 1 year of related experience, 1–3 years preferred
• Working knowledge of production reporting and scheduling
• Basic Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
• Basic knowledge of lumber math, grades, and species

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work area to run according to schedule and minimize downtime
• Ensure area and equipment are safe and clean
• Provide machine-specific safety training prior to operation
• Schedule production and balance workloads between teams
• Review preshift inspection sheets and address concerns
• Review production sheets and communicate with employees
• Check materials and finished products meet customer specs
• Lead CI initiatives to improve processes
• Conduct Sunrise meetings and monthly safety talks
• Direct activities per company policies and laws
• Communicate with employees and management
• Lead safety and continuous improvement efforts
• Participate in performance evaluations
• Prepare production reports and maintain records
• Ensure safety standards are met
