Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Basic Machine Helper to support brake presses, punch turrets, and automated laser machines in the fabrication department. You will assist with setup, loading/unloading, and general upkeep to ensure smooth production. Starting pay is $19/hour with manual and data-entry tasks involved.

Responsibilities include loading materials, setting up tooling, maintaining cleanliness, labeling, and assisting machine operators. A prescreen assessment is required.

Qualifications

• Accurate reading of tape measures, gauges, and other test equipment.
• Help set up, load and unload machines and assist machine operators within the Fabrication Department.
• Stack finished product in accordance with manufacturing specifications; unitize for shipping.
• Assist in bending/cutting of raw materials.
• Participating in reducing waste, actively participating in team problem solving processes, and maintaining quality standards.
• Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints. (Preferred)
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and equipment handling.
• Ability to lift and move materials within the required safety guidelines.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Performing repetitive tasks.
• Basic computer/math skills
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Prescreen assessment required.

• Support the setup of tooling and dies and maintain the machine area.
• Maintain cleanliness around the machine area, including tools and equipment.
• Computer data entry for machine operations.
• Unloading, palletizing materials, and assisting the operator for Punch Turrets.
• Maintain cleanliness around the machine area, including tools and equipment; labeling.
• Computer data entry; ensuring proper labeling.
• Unloading, loading material, and assisting the operator for Automated Lasers.
• Maintain cleanliness around the machine area, including tools and equipment.; labeling.
• Computer data entry; ensuring proper labeling.
• Assist in setting up, loading and unloading machines and assist machine operators within the Fabrication Department.
• Stack finished product and assist in handling to shipping for shipment.
