Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks a Basic Machine Helper to support brake presses, punch turrets and automated lasers in our Fabrication Department. You will assist with setup, loading, unloading, and maintaining tools and work areas to keep production flowing smoothly.

Starting wage is $19 per hour with opportunities to grow. The role requires reading tape measures and blueprints, basic math, safe material handling, and standing for extended periods in a manufacturing

Qualifications

Reading tape measures, gauges and test equipment accurately.
Assist in setting up, loading and unloading machines in Fabrication Department.
Stack finished product per manufacturing specifications and ship readiness.
Assist in bending/cutting of raw materials.
Participate in waste reduction and team problem solving while maintaining quality.
Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn.
Ability to read blueprints (Preferred).
Understand safety procedures and equipment handling.
Able to lift/move materials within safety guidelines.
Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Basic computer/math skills.
Prescreen assessment required.

Responsibilities

Unloading, loading material, and assisting the operator for brake presses, punch turrets, and automated lasers.
Support the setup of tooling and dies; maintain cleanliness around the machine area.
Data entry into computer systems and labeling as required.
Stack finished product in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
Assist in bending/cutting of raw materials and participate in problem solving.
Adhere to safety procedures and equipment handling; stand for long periods.
