Job summary

JTEKT North America is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to own the machining processes for CVJ lines, including CNC turning and grinding. You will troubleshoot downtime, design fixtures, and support continuous improvement to standardize and optimize lines under the Lead Engineer.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or manufacturing engineering background, 3+ years in automotive machining, and hands-on experience with fixtures and tooling design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 3+ years in machining or process engineering within automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• Design of fixtures/tooling for high-volume equipment and automated equipment troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage machining process performance for CNC turning and grinding lines.
• Lead root-cause analysis for downtime, scrap, and quality issues.
• Design, develop, and test tooling, fixtures, and gauging.
• Create and maintain SOPs for machining processes.
• Perform CPk/Ppk studies and support APQP/PPAP for changes.
• Support commissioning of new or rebuilt equipment.
• Maintain engineering documentation and process changes.
• Analyze data to drive quality, cost reduction, and cycle-time reduction.
• Support capital equipment purchases and spare parts strategy.
• Mentor area owners and technicians in machining processes.
• Support 5S and shop floor safety initiatives.
