Job summary

Power Test, LLC is seeking a Machining & Welder/Fabricating Lead to oversee the machine shop and weld shop, directing schedules and priorities while delivering high quality parts to customers.

The role is hands-on and requires programming, setup, and operation of Mazak CNC equipment with Mazatrol, plus leading a team to achieve lean, safe, and efficient production with strong engineering collaboration.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state journeyman program in machining or welding, or equivalent experience and knowledge.
• Minimum of 8 years of fabrication or machining experience.
• Demonstrated experience programming, setting up, and operating Mazak CNC equipment using Mazatrol.
• Demonstrated experience in MIG and TIG welding and metal fabrication. AWS welding certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Build a skilled, collaborative and engaged team, training, motivating, and coaching appropriately.
• Prioritize, coordinate and communicate assignments to optimize efficient production and deliver high quality products.
• Prepare work by studying work instructions, specifications, and parts lists. Tag jobs per procedures.
• Anticipate, plan and recommend space, tooling, and staffing needs required.
• Submit tool or equipment purchase requests. Ensure tools and equipment stay in good working condition.
• Plan and sequence machine shop workload across equipment; determine machining methods, tooling, workholding, and fixturing for new and existing parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T; verify first‑article and in‑process parts with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
