Machining Engineering Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop innovative solutions, improving manufacturing processes and productivity.
- Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues on the production floor to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
- Lead root cause analysis of quality disruptions, collaborating across teams to implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence and product quality.
- Provide on-the-ground technical support to machinists, advising on tooling, fixturing, and machine adjustments.
- Regularly monitor manufacturing operations to ensure optimal workflow and process adherence.
- Maintain, update, and verify the accuracy of blueprints and manufacturing documents to reflect current specifications and standards.
- Document detailed reports on technical issues and changes in manufacturing processes to preserve continuity and improvements.
- Support the training and development of team members through hands-on mentoring and coaching.
- Fill in as a backup operator for various machinery as needed to ensure seamless production operations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a machining or production support role in an industrial setting.
- Proven ability to work in and understand horizontal machining environments.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in job shop environments advantageous.
- Knowledge and participation in continuous improvement activities highly regarded.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with SolidWorks and/or Mastercam software.
- Skilled in conducting root cause analysis and executing corrective actions.
- Ability to effectively manage and troubleshoot tooling issues.
